YOUNG WOMAN SAVES HOUSE FROM FIRE.
On Monday August 3rd the SFC was dispatched with Seargeantville Volunteer Fire Co for an alarm activation. Squad and DC-47 arrived while Pumper Tender 23 and Chief 23 were enroute. A second call for a working structure fire on Rte 579 came in and 23 fire units were diverted to it. On arrival a young lady named “Onya” who was a passerby had a garden hose on the involved exterior wall and had knocked down the growing fire. Before she left, she only stated her name and that her uncle was a Fire Chief in Kentucky. Onya, you are a true hero! You saved a home from serious damage and possibly total loss. Thank you.
